Navigating in Context

When an object is added to context, you can display additional information or hide some elements when navigating models.

For example, you can add to context a semantic browser, to display only filtered ports.

  1. Select one of the objects that can be used as context:
    Object in ContextPurpose
    Scope To display links from the scope view.
    Traceability To display links from the scope traceability Coverage view.
    Link set To display links from the context link set .
    Review To display, add and answer the annotations that are added to a model.
    Semantic browser configuration To apply the navigation customization by selecting an element.

    For example, a context semantic browser can be customized to only display filtered ports.

    Configuration filters:
    • Model version
    • Product configuration filter
    • Predefined configuration filter
    		 To filter a requirement, functional, logical, or physical model.
  2. From the navigation bar, click Add to Context .
    The icon of the context object appears in the navigation bar.
  3. Navigate your model, and verify that additional information appears in the properties area (such as source links).

    Note: Depending on the object added to context, additional commands are displayed. For more information, see:

    Tip: From the navigation bar, click its icon to open the object in context.

  4. To work with several objects in context:
    1. From the widget preferences, select Enable Multiple Contexts. For more information, see Customizing Preferences.
    2. Add another object in context.

      The active object is displayed to the right of the navigation bar.

    3. To change the active context for another one, move the other context icon to the right location.

  5. To stop navigating in context, use one of the following methods:
    • Click the context icon to switch back to the context element, and then click Remove from Context .
    • From the navigation bar, drag the context icon to the lower-left corner of the work area. The Remove from Context icon appears, drop the context icon onto it.
      Important: To display the Remove from Context command, you must drag a context icon to this location.
