Searching in a ReqIf Model

In a ReqIf model, you can search for Specification, Spec-Object, and Spec-Relation objects.

  1. Select a ReqIf object.
  2. From the properties area, click Search .
  3. In the Search for box, enter a string for your search.
  4. In the Type list, select one of these types:
    TypeDescription
    Specification Searches the string in the following elements of the specifications:
    • title
    • LONG-NAME
    • IDENTIFIER
    • DESC
    • SPECIFICATION-TYPE LONG-NAME
    • SPECIFICATION-TYPE IDENTIFIER
    • SPECIFICATION-TYPE DESC
    Spec-Object Searches the string in the following elements of the spec-objects:
    • title
    • LONG-NAME
    • IDENTIFIER
    • SPEC-OBJECT-TYPE LONG-NAME
    • SPEC-OBJECT-TYPE IDENTIFER
    • SPEC-OBJECT-TYPE DESC
    Spec-Relation Searches the string in the following elements of the spec-relations:
    • LONG-NAME
    • IDENTIFIER
    • DESC
    • SPEC-RELATION-TYPE LONG-NAME
    • SPEC-RELATION-TYPE IDENTIFIER
    • SPEC-RELATION-TYPE DESC
    Attribute-Value Searches the string in the following elements of the attribute-value:
    • THE-VALUE
    • ATTRIBUTE-DEFINITION LONG-NAME
    • ATTRIBUTE-DEFINITION IDENTIFIER
    • ATTRIBUTE-DEFINITION DESC
  5. Optional: Select or clear the following options:
    OptionDescription
    Ignore Case Searches the string by ignoring upper and lowercases.

    By default, this option is selected.

    Regular Expression Applies the regular expression mode for an advanced search. The Java regular expression implementation is similar to PCRE.

    By default, this option is cleared.

  6. Click OK to display the search result in the current basket.
