Design Manager Messages

If there is a problem with a sketch, feature, or assembly in a product, the Design Manager displays an indicator next to the corresponding item. You can view additional information about the problem.

Context: Common problems include:

  • A sketch that is underdefined
  • A feature that cannot be completed, for example, a fillet that is too large
  • A mate that conflicts with existing mates
Indicator Description

Information
Offers information available on the feature that is not considered to interfere with the design.

Warning
Indicates a conflict, but the operation can be completed.

Warnings occur when the sketch or feature has lost one or more references but can still generate a partial result. For example, if a sketch loses its plane or a vertex reference. Another example, a fillet might have lost one or more edge references but still has one or more available.

Error
Indicates an error that prevents the operation from being completed.

Errors occur when the feature completely fails to generate its intended result. For example, if an extrude loses it's up to geometry reference or a plane loses its reference.

  1. To display an error message, hover over the indicator in the Design Manager.

  2. Double-click the feature with the error to open the command and correct the problem.
