Bridging a Surface Together by Laminar Edge

You can bridge a surface together by selecting its laminar edges whose tangents are facing within a given tolerance to each other by creating a new face between them.

  1. From the Subdivision section of the action bar, create a 2D or 3D subdivision object.

Note: A model with an open subdivision surface is used in this procedure.

  2. From the Subdivision section of the action bar, click Extrude .
  3. Select an edge in the subdivision body to extrude.

  4. Select another edge to extrude. The edges extrude independently.

  5. Click Blend from the command toolbar. A few faces get added and a bridge is created between the selected edges.

  6. Click .
  7. Click .

Note: If a bridge is created next to a symmetry plane, the resulting bridge on each side is joined along the plane.
