Filling Subdivision Holes

You can fill holes in mesh faces on a subdivision object.

  1. From the Subdivision section of the action bar, create a 2D or 3D subdivision object with a hole or deleted face.

    Note: An extruded 3D subdivision box with a deleted face is used in this procedure.

  2. From the Subdivision section of the action bar, click Fill Edges .
    A command toolbar appears with the following commands:

    Command Description
    Command Icon On a subdivision object, when you launch a command with a command toolbar, the active command icon is displayed on the drag handle of the toolbar. In the screen capture above this table, the Fill Edges icon is shown.


    OK. Accepts the current result and closes the command.


    Cancel. Cancels the command.
    Note: Press Esc to exit the command, double-click to apply the current command and use the command again.
  3. Select one of the edges of the hole in the mesh.


    Note: If multiple faces have been deleted, applying the Fill Edges command once on a hole fills the entire hole.
  4. Click .
