Mapping Concept Surfaces

You can map concept surfaces onto other concept surfaces.

Before you begin: Open a 3D Shape containing concept surfaces.
  1. From a concept surface to be mapped, select a face output.
  2. From the Concept section of the action bar, or from the context toolbar, click Map .
In the Manage Mappings panel, the face output is added to the map sources list. The Containing Object(s) line displays the parent concept surface.

In the File Source Tree list, Manual Selection is selected. The selected face output is added to the map sources list.

  3. In the File Source Tree list, select Not Mapped Surfaces.
All not mapped face outputs associated with the concept surface are added to the map sources list. They are displayed with their geometry-specific icons.
  4. Select all face outputs in the list.
  5. In the Map Targets section, click Modify Map Target .
  6. Select one or multiple face outputs of the target concept surface and click Select map targets .
The concept surface is mapped onto the target concept surface. The map source list is cleared.
  7. Click OK to create the mapping.
