Generating Usage Reports

When IP Classification or the Semiconductor IP Classify and Reuse is used, Librarians can generate a usage report that includes information entered by users about how documents have been used. The usage report can be based on a specific document, a specific person, all documents in a specific state, or a combination of these.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Leader, Owner
  • App-specific: Librarian

  1. Make IP Classification or Semiconductor IP Classify and Reuse the active app.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Reports > Usage Report.
  3. Specify search criteria:

    Field Name Description
    State of Usage From the list, select one of the following:
    • Downloaded. The document has been downloaded.
    • Failed. The integration was not successful.
    • Integrating. The document is being integrated into a design.
    • Succeeded. The integration was successful.
    • All. All states of usage.
    Document Click to search for and select the document for which you want to check usage.
    Originator Click to search for and select the person who entered usage information.
    Purpose Enter any words that appear in the text the user entered for usage information.

  4. Click Search.

    The Usage Report is generated, including Usage and Document links. For each object downloaded, this page shows:

    Column Name Description
    State of Usage If the search criteria included a specific state, all documents on the results page show the same state.
    • Downloaded. The document was downloaded.
    • Integrating. The document is being integrated into a design.
    • Succeeded. The integration was successful.
    • Failed. The integration was not successful.
    Purpose Text the user entered for usage information.
    Originator Person who used the documents.
    Originated Date the documents were used.
    Document Name of the document.

  5. Click Close.
  6. To edit the usage report to change the status of the downloaded items, click Edit from the page toolbar. See Editing Usage Information.
