About On the Fly Information

On the Fly Information provides information on the composites feature under the pointer, and applies selection filters. For example, On the Fly Information for Plies Groups selects a plies group even if you are picking a single ply in it. If one contour is shared by several objects, the list of those objects is displayed, with one object highlighted. You can use the up and down arrows to go from one object to another.

Note: Those commands are available in Composites Design and Composites Manufacturing Preparation.

On the Fly Information provides the information on the feature under the pointer, whatever its type.

The pointer is on a plies group:

  • Name of the plies group
  • Number of sequences
  • Number of plies
  • Number of cores
  • Number of cut pieces.

The pointer is on a sequence:

  • Name of the sequence
  • Number of plies
  • Number of cores
  • Number of cut pieces.

The pointer is on a ply:

  • Name of the ply
  • Name and direction of the material.

The pointer is on an ETBS:

  • Name of the ETBS
  • Name of the two zones connected by the ETBS with the number of layers, thickness, material and orientation information.

The pointer is on core samplings:

  • Name of the CS
  • Number of layers, thickness, material, and orientation information
  • If there are several materials, On the Fly Information displays the list of materials with the orientations. However, the order of this list does not reflect that of the materials in the core sampling.
  • If the core sampling is not up to date, the core sampling is no longer valid until you modify it. In that case, On the Fly Information displays only the name of the CS, followed by (Not Accurate).

Icons also provide information:

  • On the Fly Information forces the selection of (and displays information about) the corresponding plies group:
    • Name of the plies group
    • Number of sequences
    • Number of plies
    • Number of cores
    • Number of cutpieces.
  • On the Fly Information for Sequences forces the selection of (and displays information about) the corresponding sequence:
    • Name of the sequence
    • Number of plies
    • Number of cores
    • Number of cut pieces.
  • On the Fly Information for Plies or Inserts forces the selection of (and displays information about) the corresponding ply or insert:
    • Name of the ply
    • Material and direction.
