Filling Holes on Surfaces or Solids/Volumes

Use Shut Off Surface to fill holes on surfaces, or solids/volumes. Use Shut Off Surface to fill holes on surfaces. Design changes are supported.

  1. Select a surface, or a volume/solid.
  2. Select an axis system (Pulling or stamping direction).

    Selecting an axis system is mandatory to compute draft patches, optional otherwise.

  3. If you have selected a solid or a volume, select the boundaries of the holes to fill.
  4. Hover over Automatic fill ratio.
    The percentage of filled holes is displayed.
  5. Click this display to access filled holes and the corresponding solution.
  6. If the proposed side is not the expected one, click from the context menu of the hole to choose the other side.
  7. Expand More for further actions.
    1. Expand Quality checkers and select the required ones.
    2. Set Continuity Tolerances .
    3. Define G0, G1 or G2 continuity on automatic fills.
    4. Optional: Decide to join the initial surface to the result fillings.
    5. Opt to Fill complex holes.
  8. If you have selected Fill complex holes, expand Advanced.
    1. Select one hole in the list to inspect it.
    2. Set required parameters.
