About Parting Surface
  1. From the Molded Part section in the action bar, click Parting Surface .
  2. Select the pulling direction and the reference outline.
When the outline is planar and continuous, the parting surface is created. If discontinuities are found, you need to create more geometry doing one of the following.
  3. Click Profiles on Discontinuity Points to create missing profiles whenever possible.
  4. Click Parting Surfaces on Profiles to create missing parting surfaces whenever possible.

Tip: Improve existing geometry or create more using the context toolbar.

  5. Expand Analysis .
    1. Select and item and for more information.
    2. Edit or construct more geometry from the Geometry Creation dialog box and context toolbar.
  6. Select several profiles and edit them using the context toolbar.
  7. Select a vertex and create a point. Repeat as required.

Tip: Create a surface from two points and a direction, or one point and one profile.

  8. Select an edge and create geometry using the context toolbar, or chaining edges as instructed.
  9. Select a parting surface, planar face or closed boundary and complete it using the context toolbar.
