Defining a Molded Part and Its Publications

You can ensure that a 3D Part or Product is valid to become a Molded Part. You can also look for missing or invalid publications, fix, and create them.

A Molded Part is a typed part with one Hook, a published body, one Cavity Surface and one Core Surface. You can also publish Inserts to be used by Insert Unit to generate Prints.

  1. Activate a Molded Part or a 3D part.

Molded Part Publications supports a body or a volume for the publication of MoldedPartBody, CavityInsert, CoreInsert, CavityInsertProtect, CoreinsertProtect and SliderInsert.

For each selected volume, Molded Part Publications creates a body with the closed shell that has the extract of the volume as input. The body is created with the same name as the publication.

  2. From the Molded Part section in the action bar, click Molded Part Publications .
  3. Check the status of the selectors.

Each selector corresponds to one publication.

    The status can be:

    • Valid compulsory publication
    • Optional publication
    • Valid optional publication
    • Missing publication
    • Invalid publication
    • Publication with errors.

  4. Pick one selector to add missing information. Repeat until all required publications are complete and valid.

Use the context menus of the selected elements to delete, hide, unhide, or reframe on them.

Tip: As you go from one selector to another, the current selection is displayed on the right, and updated as you select elements.

  5. Select the Hook behavior.
