Dynamically Determining a Geometrical Element's Position

You can dynamically determine the position of any geometrical element by moving the pointer over it either in a geodetic system or in a relative coordinate system. The pointer position's coordinates are displayed. You can combine Display Coordinates available in the View section of the action bar with other commands.

  1. Select the options to determine how the values will be displayed:
    • In geodetic system to display the coordinates of geometrical elements.

By default, this option is selected. If cleared, the coordinate values are displayed with respect to the relative coordinate reference system.

    • With unit to display the units along with the coordinates values. that is displayed is specified in Me > Preferences > Parameters and Measure.
    • With feature name to display the name of the geometrical element under the pointer.

Tip: When the model comprises a terrain along with geological layers with well-codified naming rules, the geological layers may overlap. Selecting With feature name allows you to identify geological layers and track the location of the current pointer.

    The coordinates are displayed accordingly.

Consider the above figure where In geodetic system and With unit are cleared.

  2. Click Close when you are done.
