About Skeleton Representations

A skeleton representation is a specialized 3D Shape that can be instantiated under an object.

Creating a Skeleton Representation

This representation contains mainly anchors and external parameters corresponding to the driving PLM attributes. V_usage attribute is set to 3D Shape so that it is systematically opened along with its aggregating object.V_nature attribute is set to Specification so that it does not clash with Definition3D shapes during an interference check. This prevents the feature representation of a object to clash with its PLM representation.

This representation cannot be instanced under another reference which PLM attributes would not be linked to its external parameters.

This representation is aggregated by an object: a skeleton representation cannot be created alone. If the object is deleted, its skeleton representation is deleted too. It is possible to delete the skeleton representation alone. If the object is duplicated or versioned, its skeleton representation is also duplicated or versioned, and the aggregation maintained.

This representation is unique under a reference: it is not possible to aggregate two skeleton representations under one reference. A skeleton representation (yellow-circled) is identified by a specific icon in the tree:
