About Dynamic Visu Assistant

Dynamic Visu Assistant contains various features that are useful for managing the visualization without modifying the products or representations.

Managing Visualization Using Dynamic Visu Assistant

The dynamic wizard panel, Dynamic Visu Assistant, consists of the following options:

Setting
Lets you add and save several settings. You can switch to different settings when required.

A default setting is created by in the SRSVisuDynamicSetting.CATSetting file. A setting contains the following information:

  • Tree nodes visibility
  • Tree nodes order
  • Tree nodes collapse
  • Hide or show contracts
  • Color and transparency contracts
  • Selectable or unselectable attribute

To add a new setting, click the list and select Add setting . Each setting stores the visualization settings and contracts applied to the objects. You can rename or remove the setting using the following contextual commands.

  • Rename setting: Right-click the setting to be renamed and select Rename setting . The setting name is in edition mode. Enter the required name and click the icon.
  • Remove setting: Right-click the setting to be removed and select Remove setting .

The settings are linked to the .xml file assigned in the Data Setup. If the xml file is changed or modified, a warning message appears.

  • Click Yes to remove all the existing settings from the setting file.
  • Click No to keep the existing settings but remove the contracts that are not applicable with respect to the new object list xml.

Apply a current visualization setting on current session
Applies the visualization setting to the objects in the current session.
Tip: The visualization setting is automatically applied to the objects in the current session, when you select the Applying changes immediately when Setting is switched check box in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Multi Discipline Engineering > Space Referential > Design Assistant.
Reset visualizations in the current session
Resets the visualizations in the current session to retrieve the original visualization.
Filter Tree by Selection
Filters the tree as per selected object.
Select Object for Filtering
Selects the object from the 3D area or tree.

This option is available when you select Filter Tree by selection .

You cannot select the object from the 3D area, if Pickable check box is cleared for that object in the Graphic Properties panel.

Show All Tree
Shows all the hidden groups and objects of the tree.
Reset Tree
Resets the tree as per the original information coming from the .xml file.
Dynamic Object Tree Viewer area

Lets you view and manage the tree. The tree structure consists of different groups, subgroups, and child objects.

You can hide, show, and change the position of the group or children object under the group. You can manage the visualization by clicking the contracts. To hide the object, click . The icon turns and the selected object is hidden in the 3D area. If the contract for a parent node is cleared, the children nodes are hidden even if the contracts for the children node are selected.

Important:
  • The system displays the number of matching objects for each node in the visu assistant tree. The number of matching objects is computed and displayed when:
    • The contract is applied.
    • The contract is modified (hide, show, or change in color)
    • Matching objects are found.
    • The objects are loaded in the design mode. You can select the Deep search check box in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Multi Discipline Engineering > Space Referential > Design Assistant, to load all the objects in the design mode.
  • The group and folder nodes are dummy nodes. These nodes display the number of matching objects when you select the Display number of matching objects in dummy node check box in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Multi Discipline Engineering > Space Referential > Design Assistant.
  • When the tree contains parent and child (leaf) products of a same type, crosshead, for example, the contract is applied to both the products. You can click Show Preferences and select the Apply only leaf nodes check box to apply the contract only to the leaf products.

Various options available when you double-click a node, are as follows:

  • When you double-click a node, the Graphic Properties panel appears with the following options:
    • Color: Lets you set a specific color to a group, a subgroup, or an object.

By default, this check box is cleared.

    • Visible: Shows an object, a subgroup, or a group.

If you clear this check box, the related objects are hidden.

By default, this check box is selected.

    • Pickable: Makes an object, a subgroup, or a group selectable in the 3D area.

If this check box is cleared, you cannot select the related objects in the 3D area.

By default, this check box is selected.

Note: You can also predefine these graphical properties in the XML file set in Data Setup.

Various contextual commands available are as follows:

  • Hide node : Hides an object, subgroup or a group. When you hide a group or subgroup, the child objects under the node are also hidden.
  • Show hidden children : Shows the hidden child objects. This option is available only when any child object is hidden for a group.
  • Set Color : Sets a specific color to a group, subgroup, or an object. When you right-click and select Set Color, the Color Chooser dialog box appears. You can select the required color and set the required transparency.
  • Reset Color : Resets the original color of a group, subgroup, or object. This option is available only when any color is set.
  • Up : Changes the position of an object, subgroup, or group by moving it up in the tree structure.
  • Down : Changes the position of an object, subgroup, or group by moving it down in the tree structure.
  • Expand All : Expands the tree structure of the group, subgroup, or a node by displaying all its child objects.
  • Collapse All : Collapses the tree structure of the group, subgroup, or a node.
  • Select Matching Objects : Highlights the selected matching objects in the 3D area and tree.
  • Show only this: Hides all other objects. This command is available only for PLM object nodes. If you run this command on the group node, all the PLM object nodes under the group are taken into account. The changes made through this command are not saved in the setting.

Notes:
  • The changes are applied for visualization purpose. The parts are not modified.
  • The changes apply the visualization on objects only in the current session.
  • You can add objects and groups to the dynamic wizard section by modifying the .xml file.
  • When you expand or collapse the nodes, the system saves this information. When you restart the session, the system loads the tree structure from the previous session.
