Model Version Derivation
Derivation is a new kind of criteria that can be used to express effectivity, applicability or predefined configuration. By default, the Product Line Component (PLC) and Design Manufacturing Plans (CFE) manages the products and the manufacturing plans with linear evolution and the evolution of object is done as revisions. Once a new revision is created, the previous object cannot be evolved further.
The Model Version Derivation represents the derivation tree of all the model versions evolved over a period of time and managed under the same model. This derivation enables you to connect and identify the objects in derivation chain through the derived relationship. For each model, a single main model version relationship is available for identifying the root Model Version, and pointing to the first instance of the model version created under a model.
