Displaying Instantiated Configuration Using B.I. Essentials

You can view and distinguish the instances with static mapping in the product structure tree and 3D. This enables you to obtain detailed information about the predefined configuration used for the identified instances by viewing its properties.

Before you begin: Open a configured product structure in the Product Structure Design or Product Finder work area. For more information about opening a product, see:
  • Product Structure DesignUser Guide: Working with Products: Opening a Product.
  • Product Finder User Guide: Navigating on Data: Exploring a Part Having Multiple Associated Configurations.
  1. Select a product instance to visualize the predefined configuration directly in the 3D through different shadings.
  2. To access the B.I. Essentials list, from the Tools section of the action bar, click B.I. Essentials .
  3. In the B.I. Essentials panel, select Instantiated Configuration.
Color shading is applied to each instance in the product structure and 3D geometry to indicate the presence of static mapping.

The following instantiated configuration information is displayed in B.I. Essentials list with reference to colors:

    Color Information
    Red Contains static mapping.
    White No static mapping.

The label displays information about the selected instance of which configuration is instantiated (if there is one).

Note: Multiple levels of static mapping in the product structure tree can only be viewed.
