Creating, Opening, Editing, and Deleting Alerts

You can create alerts on bar and line charts to receive notifications, or to notify other users, when chart values meet the threshold and conditions you have defined. You can also edit and delete alerts you have created.

By default, line and bar charts are represented by the following icon on their widget header: .

Create an Alert

You can create alerts to receive notifications or notify other users when line or bar chart items reach the threshold you have defined.

  1. On the line or bar chart for which you want to create an alert, click Menu > Alert.
    The Create an alert dialog box opens.
  2. Required: In the Title field, enter a name for your alert.
  3. If you intend to add multiple conditions to your alert, click Any of these from the When section and select one of the following options:
    • Any of these: Your alert sends a notification whenever at least one of its conditions is met.
    • All: Your alert sends a notification only when all its conditions are met.
  4. From the first gray area, create a condition:
    1. Select a series.

      You can only select one series per condition.

    2. If you want the alert to watch a specific value from the series, select it. Otherwise, select any.
    3. Define a threshold by selecting a comparison operator (Above, Below, or Equal to) and entering a value.
  5. Optional: To add another condition, click Add Condition and repeat step 4.
  6. From the Then section, specify recipients, that is to say, the users who will receive notifications:
    1. By default, the section is already filled with your username. If you do not want to be a recipient of this alert, hover over your username and click Remove .
    2. In the recipient field, enter the username of any user you want to notify with this alert.

      If you are creating an alert on a duplicate page, you can still enter the username of a user who does not have access to the page. The notification will take the user to the original chart on the default page.

    3. Click Add Recipient to validate the recipient's username.
    4. Optional: To add more recipients, repeat substeps b and c.
  7. If you want your alert to only send notifications during a specific period, specify a start and an end date from the Period section:
    1. Click the From field and select a start date on the calendar.
    2. Click the To field and select an end date on the calendar.

    Date format is dd/mm/yyyy.

    You can only define one period per alert.

  8. Click Create.

The alert is created and sends notifications to all subscribed recipients whenever its conditions and threshold are met.

Open an Alert Notification

  1. From the navigation menu, click Change Intelligence.
  2. From the top right-hand corner, click Notifications.
  3. Click the notification you want to open.

The application opens the page that contains the chart that triggered the alert. If the alert was created on duplicate page, the notification opens the default page that contains the original chart.

Edit an Alert

You can edit alerts you have created from the Preferences menu.
