Managing Sharing Permissions

You can manage the access rights of the users with whom you have shared a page and of any shared page to which you were granted the write permission.

This task shows you how to:

Add Users

You can add users to any shared page on which you have the write permission.

Before you begin: Have the write permission on the shared page to which you want to add users. To know what permission has been granted to you, see My Shared Pages Section.
  1. On the page to which you want to add users, click Modify current page > Share Page .
  2. From the dialog box, either:

    Specify users one by one
    1. In the box corresponding to the permission you want to grant, start entering the name or username of the user you want to share the page with.
    2. From the list of suggestions that appeared as you typed, click the name of the user you want to share the page with.

      The name of the user is added under the box.

      Note: If no list appeared as you typed, enter the full name or username of the user you want to share the page with and click Add .

    3. Verify that the following icon is displayed next to the name of the user: . This icon indicates that the name belongs to a single user; not to a group of users. If it is not displayed, click Click to change entity to a single user .
    4. Repeat steps from a. to c. for each user you want to share the page with.
    Specify a group of users
    Note: Groups must have been defined beforehand in ENOVIA or by your administrator. You cannot create groups from the Change Intelligence user interface.
    1. In the box corresponding to the permission you want to grant, enter the name of the group of users you want to share the page with.
    2. From the list of suggestions that appeared as you typed, click the name of the group of users you want to share the page with.

      The name of the group is added under the box.

      Note: If no list appeared as you typed, enter the full name of the group you want to share the page with and click Add .

    3. Verify that the following icon is displayed next to the name of the group: . This icon indicates that the name belongs to a group of users; not to a single user. If it is not displayed, click Click to change entity to a group of users .
    4. Repeat steps from a. to c. for each group of users you want to share the page with.
    Give permission to all users at once Select All on the permission line corresponding to the permission you want to give them.
  3. Click Apply.

An instance of the page is added to the application of all the users you have added.

Remove Users

You can remove access rights from any user of a shared page on which you have the write permission.

Before you begin: Have the write permission on the shared page from which you want to remove users. To know what permission has been granted to you, see My Shared Pages Section.
  1. On the page from which you want to remove a user, click Modify current page > Share Page .
  2. From the dialog box, either:
    ActionStep
    Remove users or groups of users one by one
    1. Click Remove next to name of the user or group of users you want to remove.
    2. Repeat above step for each user or group of users you want to remove.
    Remove users that had been given the permission all at once Unselect All.
  3. Click Apply.

The instance of the page is deleted from the application of the users you have removed.

Edit Permission Type

You can change the permission type that has been given to any user or group of users of any shared page on which you have the write permission.

Before you begin: Have the write permission on the shared page on which you want to edit permission types. To know what permission has been granted to you, see My Shared Pages Section.
  1. On the page from which you want to edit a permission type, click Modify current page > Share Page .
  2. From the dialog box, remove the user(s) or group(s) of users from the permission line that they were granted:

    1. Click next to name of the user or group of users you want to remove.
    2. Repeat above step for each user or group of users you want to remove.
    Remove users that had been given the permission all at once Unselect All.
  3. Re-add user(s):

    1. In the box corresponding to the permission you want to grant, start entering the name or username of the user you want to share the page with.
    2. From the list of suggestions that appeared as you typed, click the name of the user you want to share the page with.

      The name of the user is added under the box.

      Note: If no list appeared as you typed, enter the full name or username of the user you want to share the page with and click Add .

    3. Verify that the following icon is displayed next to the name of the user: . This icon indicates that the name belongs to a single user; not to a group of users. If it is not displayed, click Click to change entity to a single user .
    4. Repeat steps from a. to c. for each user you want to share the page with.
    Specify a group of users
    Note: Groups must have been defined beforehand in ENOVIA or by your administrator. You cannot create groups from the Change Intelligence user interface.
    1. In the box corresponding to the permission you want to grant, enter the name of the group of users you want to share the page with.
    2. From the list of suggestions that appeared as you typed, click the name of the group of users you want to share the page with.

      The name of the group is added under the box.

      Note: If no list appeared as you typed, enter the full name of the group you want to share the page with and click Add .

    3. Verify that the following icon is displayed next to the name of the group: . This icon indicates that the name belongs to a group of users; not to a single user. If it is not displayed, click Click to change entity to a group of users .
    4. Repeat steps from a. to c. for each group of users you want to share the page with.
    Give permission to all users at once Select All on the permission line corresponding to the permission you want to give them.
  4. Click Apply.
