Touch Gestures

You do not have to use the viewing tool commands or icons to perform all viewing operations. For quick access, you can also use gestures to activate a certain number of viewing tools. Gestures are the one- or two-finger touch inputs, or basic actions you use to interact with objects.

The tables below describe the touch gestures supported. Experiment using these gestures until you are familiar with them.

Basic Interactions

The following touch gestures let you manipulate 2D and 3D objects.

Tap

(Touch the screen with one finger, and then release.)

Select or left-mouse click
Double-tap

(Two taps in quick succession.)

Double-click
Hold

(Touch the screen and hold, and then release.)

Right-click
Drag across screen or drag an object

(Move one finger to the left or right.)

Rotate in the direction you slide your finger, or pan.
Pinch

(Move two fingers closer together.)

Zoom out
Spread

(Move two fingers farther apart.)

Zoom in
Two-finger drag

(Move two fingers to the left or right.)

Pan
Two-finger rotate

(Move two fingers around each other.)

Rotate (3D only)
Drag and hold

(Touch the screen with one finger and hold, and then move the other finger to the left or right.)

Drag the selected object to the left or to the right
Two-finger double tap

(Touch the screen with two fingers, and then release.)

Reframe
Tap and hold

(Touch the screen with one finger and hold, and then touch the screen with the other finger.)

Recenter

Some touch gestures let you manage the action bar layout.

Scroll a section when it is not fully visible
Flick

(With one finger, quickly drag to the right.)

Scroll to the end if not fully visible, and then switch sections
