Activating Rendering on a Cluster

You can distribute the scene display to different computers ("cluster") managed by the TechViz engine. The scene is displayed in 1:1 scale in real time on your tiled wall, or your immersive room.

You can then interact with your 3D scene in immersive mode, and perform manipulations by pointing at objects.

Before you begin:
  • You need a TechViz installation configured for the 3DEXPERIENCE. For more information, see the appropriate TechViz user assistance. If no proper TechViz installation is detected when you start the 3DEXPERIENCE session, the Clustering CAVE command is grayed.
  • This functionality is available on Windows only.
  • This functionality is relevant for 3D scenes, not for 2D.
  1. Open a scene.
  2. From the AR-VR section of the action bar, click Clustering CAVE .
The Clustering CAVE icon is pressed to indicate that immersive clustering is active.

Some display preferences (such as antialiasing, projection, and so on) are modified to take into account the TechViz display.

When immersive clustering starts, the scene display is distributed to the cluster and you can see it on the walls of your immersive environment. Stereoscopy and head tracking are activated.

  3. Start navigating using a wand, or head-tracking devices.

You can also perform mouse and keyboard interactions.

  4. Click Clustering CAVE to quit the command.
The scene is not displayed anymore in the immersive environment. You also retrieve the preferences defined before running the Clustering CAVE command.
    Important:
    • If the number of IHD tokens available is not sufficient, the Clustering CAVE command does not start and an error message is displayed.
    • Only one scene at a time is displayed on the cluster. If you click Clustering CAVE when a scene is already displayed, the cluster stops and restarts with the new scene.
