Viewing Objects on an Immersive Desktop

You can view objects in full screen immersive mode on a desktop. You can also use a gamepad to navigate in your scene.

This command lets you configure your scenario only once; you can then activate or deactivate it when needed through the Desktop Wall command.

Before you begin:
  • In the Preferences, click Enable stereoscopic display.
  • Follow the graphics card driver instruction.
  • To activate stereoscopy, you also need to follow the graphics card driver instruction.
  1. Open a scene.
  2. From the AR-VR section of the action bar, click Desktop Wall Configuration .
  3. In the Display area of the Desktop Wall Configuration dialog box, define the screen parameters.
    OptionDescription
Fullscreen Size Defines the screen width and height (in millimeters).

This option is especially useful to display a real-size model.

Stereoscopy Applies stereoscopic effects to your scene.
Interpupillary Distance Defines the distance between the two eyes of the user (in millimeters).

The measured interpupillary distance (IPD) is then applied to the stereoscopic rendering process to ensure the best visual comfort when displaying the scene.

Screen-Eye Distance Specifies how far the screen is from the user's eyes (in centimeters).
  4. In the Navigation area, select the appropriate option.
    OptionDescription
None Lets you use the mouse. No other device can be used.
Fly with Gamepad Lets you fly through your scene with a gamepad.

  5. Set the speed factor to be applied to accelerating or decelerating translations.

This lets you define how fast you want to move in the space.

  6. In the Model Scale area, select the scale at which the scene should be displayed.
    OptionDescription
Automatic Scale Uses the same scale in the scenario and in the app. You also have the ability to control zooming actions.
Custom Scale Defines a fixed scale in millimeters by moving the slider (where 1 corresponds to a real-size scale and lower values correspond to a smaller scale).
  7. From the AR-VR section of the action bar, click Desktop Wall .
  8. Navigate your scene.
  9. To quit the command, right-click then select Full Screen.
