Opening Content from a Navigation Tab

You can select references and representations to open from a navigation tab using the Open Advanced... command.

You cannot open:

  • Non-3DEXPERIENCE objects.
  • An object created using 3DEXPERIENCE if its name contains national characters or forbidden special characters. For a reminder, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Accessing and Customizing Standards: About Standards.

When a filter or a configuration is applied, only the filtered references are taken into account, not the filtered representations. All the representations will be opened whatever the filter applied to the representations. The defined filter (if any) is taken into account when the structure is expanded.

Visualization filters are not taken into account.

Before you begin:
  1. From a navigation tab, select the objects you want to open (you can select multiple objects).
  2. Click Open Advanced in the Navigation section of the action bar.
    Tip: You can also
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+O
    • Or, right-click the object then select Open With > Open Advanced....
  3. Select the options to be applied.
Important: The values set for the options displayed in this dialog box are stored in preference files. Therefore, if you modify the default values, you will recover them next time you run the Open Advanced... command.
  4. Click OK to validate and close the Open Advanced dialog box.
The selected objects open according to the selected options.
    • With visible expanded children
    • With expanded children from database: the selected reference opens with all its children expanded. If you deselect one option or the other, the reference only opens at the root.
    • With 3D Shape representations
    • Without any representation
    • With all representations

Note that if you select several part instances, all their children are open.

    Important:
    • If you select a terminal node and if the node is a representation, it opens with its 3D Shape representation, even if Without any representation is selected.
    • If you select a terminal node with With 3D Shape representation selected, the 3D Shape representation of the father product and the intermediate 3D Shape representations of the part instances are open.
    • If you select objects in different instances of a multi-instantiated node, all of them are loaded under each instance in the authoring tab. For more information, see Multi-Instantiated Nodes.
