Snapping the Robot at Strategic Points

You can explore the underlying geometry of a complex representation and place the Robot at strategically located points.

Before you begin: When using this command, there is a price to pay in performance.
  1. Select an object either in the 3D area or in the tree.
  2. Right-click the Robot then select Explore and Snap at Strategic Points.
The underlying geometry without decoration (the decoration contains the defining parameters of the canonical representation type) is explored and the Robot is snapped at the strategic point. For instance:

    • For a hole, the strategic point is the hole center.
    • For a cylinder, the strategic point is the cylinder axis.

  3. Right-click the Robot then clear Explore and Snap at Strategic Points to deactivate the command.
