Ghosting Objects

You can temporarily hide groups of parts you point at to make hidden details visible.

Before you begin:
  • By default, this command is activated.
  • The activation state applies to all viewers in the current session.
  1. Open your model.


  2. Move your mouse over the model, hold ALT and press G, or hold ALT and scroll up.
    Parts located underneath the pointer are not visible anymore.

  3. Repeat the press, or scroll action to keep on hiding pointed parts.


    Tip: Hold ALT+G+G to automatically hide parts as you point them. To exit repetitive mode, release G.
  4. Hold ALT and scroll down.

    Hidden parts reappear one by one on each press or scroll action (parts hidden last reappear first.)



  5. Hold ALT while hovering over the model.
    The ghosting effect is kept and you can select parts that were previously hidden.

  6. Drag the pointer outside the model.
    The original display is restored and hidden parts reappear.

  7. From the View section of the action bar, click Volatile Ghosting to deactivate the command.
