Recording a Macro

You can record a sequence of actions and include it into a macro. You cannot record a macro involving the Me > Preferences > Shareable Products tab.

You can store the recorded macro in the current document or in a file. When you choose to store the macro in a file, if a document was current when you started recording the macro, a link to the file storing the macro is created in this document. You can then select the macro and run it using this link from the document.

If you want to record a macro that is not pointed to by any document, store the macro in a file. You can either start recording with no current document or delete the created link from the current document when the macro is recorded.

During the installation of the software, automation information is saved in the registry. If several versions or releases are present on a computer, only the last one is registered while the information from the others has been overwriting. This implies that you cannot use automation services from all versions or releases but only from the last one.

Furthermore, when you alternatively run two versions or releases on the same computer, it is necessary to run the cnext /regserver command with administrator rights before starting each session.
