About Native Apps Tabs

The content of native apps tabs is organized in widgets independent from each other, which enables you to work on multiple objects at the same time.

Tab Layout

For each content type you access, a new widget is created. A tab can contain one or many widgets and you can create as many tabs as necessary.

Tab
A component that organizes your content in separate widgets within a 3DEXPERIENCE window.
Widget
A content you access within a tab when:
  • running an app
  • creating a new object
  • opening or importing an object
  • opening a search result.

Below is an example with two tabs, one of them containing several tiled widgets:

Tab Naming

The ability to rename tabs depends on the state of the widgets it contains.

When a tab contains multiple tiled widgets, the name of each widget is displayed on top of the widget frame. In that case, the tab can be renamed:

When a tab contains a single widget or when one of the widgets it contains is maximized, the tab is automatically named after this widget and the italic font style is applied:
