To access the Compare widget, you can:

  • Drag the widget from the Compass to the dashboard.
  • From the action bar, context menu, or toolbar, click Compare .

The structure comparison lets you identify differences between:

  • Two different objects or two filtered structures
  • An object and one of its revisions or duplicates
  • An object and one of the filters created on the same revision
Note: In Compare, filters are considered as the object the filter is created on, with the filter applied.

The structure comparison can be either structural (the trees are displayed side by side), or list-based.

On the left, an overview of the tree displays a full structural comparison. Each row in the side-by-side comparison tree is represented by a single line of the same color. This overview also includes an overview frame indicating the active portion of the indented tree structure.

The properties panel displays a comparison of the properties of the two objects loaded in Compare (similar properties or different properties).

The 3D viewer displays a geometry comparison.

Note: The 3D viewer is not available when comparing requirement specifications.

You can hide or display the structure comparison, metadata comparison, or geometry comparison using the arrows ( or ) at the upper right of each panel.
