Editing Supplier Equivalent Details

Users assigned to the create and edit roles can make changes to the basic details, and attributes that are specific to a part. The link can be accessed from the Part Properties page.


Before you begin:

Access a part's Properties page.

  1. From the page toolbar, click Actions > Edit Details.

    This page shows all the information about the part. This page is basically the same as the Properties page, except that some fields are editable rather than read-only.

  2. Make modifications, as necessary. The following can be changed:

    User can also modify the values of attributes which belong to the Attribute group linked to any of the libraries.

    Note: Availability of different edit options of SEP depends on lifecycle state of SEP on which the edit is being performed.

    Click to select the supplier of the equivalent part. The search page opens where you can search for and select a supplier that is defined as a supplier for the host company. Only one supplier can be assigned for any SEP.

    Vault

    If you want to use a vault other than the default, click to specify where the part object will be stored in the database. This field is displayed only if more than one vault is available to the context user.

    Owner

    By default, the owner is set as the person who is creating the part. To assign a different owner, click

    Description

    Type details that describe the part.

    Current Version

    Type the current version of the part.

    Estimated Cost

    Type the estimated cost on a per part basis.

    Unit of Measure

    Select a Unit of Measure from the drop-down list: LB(pound), IN(inch), GA(gallon), FT(feet), EA(each).

    Lead Time

    Select the number of weeks that it will take to manufacture the part.

    Target Cost

    Type the target cost on a per part basis.

    Spare Part

    Select Yes or No from the drop-down list to specify whether the part is to be used as a spare.

    Effective Date

    Click and select a target date for the part to become effective in the Bill of Material.

    Inventory Category

    Select the inventory category from the drop down.

  3. Click Done.
