Creating Darts

Use Dart to create darts from a line or a curve.

  1. Select plies or cut-pieces.
  2. Select Line Dart.
  3. Define the line by two points.
    • Choose Point Selection and select two existing points.
    • Or choose Point Indication and pick two point locations.
The line that passes through the two points is extrapolated to the closest edge of the ply contour.
  4. Define the gap between the two parallels created on each side of the line.

    The dart is created.

  5. Alternatively, select the Curve Dart option and a curve that intersects the ply contour (actually or by extrapolation).

Tip: Right-click Selection to create a curve.

Two closed contours can be created from the selected curve and the ply contour.
  6. If the proposed closed contour is not the required one, click Other Side or the portion of ply to keep.
  7. Right-click an existing dart to activate/de-activate or remove it.
