Defining the Composites Parameters

You can use Composites Parameters to define the materials used in your design.

  1. Select one tab to add the corresponding information.
    • Materials: Add or remove a material, or reroute a material link.
    • Directions: Add, edit, or remove a direction (orientation).
    • Laminates: Add, edit, remove a laminate, or import/export a definition file.
    • Rosettes: Add, edit, or remove a rosette.
    • For the above tabs, use the arrow to reorder elements.
    • Main Stacking Sequence: Import/export a definition file, or define a Main Stacking Sequence from the table (Add or edit a laminate, add, or edit a layer, remove a Main Stacking Sequence)
      Notes:
      • To edit a Main Stacking Sequence, export it, modify the file and reimport the modified file (no direct editing).
      • Main Stacking Sequence and Laminates do not share the same import/export formats.
    • Ramp Definitions: Add, edit, or remove ramp definitions.
  2. Material name displays the actual name of the selected material. Edit Material ID to enter an alias (shorter or corporate name).
  3. Reroute a material link to replace a material in all plies, or to fix a broken link.
    1. Select one or several materials.
    2. Click Reroute Material Link.
      Select a material.
  4. Use the context menu on the tree to isolate a material.
