Creating Plies From Zones

Plies From Zones creates plies from the zones you have defined. You can also use a stack-up file.

  1. Select a group of zones.
  2. In the tree, select the sequence or the plies group after which the plies are inserted.
  3. Select the Use Stack-Up File check box to import the stack-up file created from zones.
    In this file, you can modify the stack-up, create the laminate, and modify the plies order.
  4. Select a default location for the file to import (Filed-based system or Database ).
  5. Click ... to select the file to import.
  6. Select the Create plies from Zones with Taper check box to create plies from zones with a transition zone.
  7. Select the Create plies without staggering check box to create plies without a staggered geometry.
  8. Select the Create full plies and ETBS check box to create plies and the corresponding ETBS (edges to be staggered).
    1. Select the Generate staggering data file check box.
    1. Select a default location for the file to export and enter a directory and file name.
    2. To see the staggering data file content after creating the plies, select the Open Staggering Data File after creation check box.
