Inspecting the Producibility

You can retrieve and export the fiber deformation and deviation information of several plies to detect manufacturability problems.

Note: This task is available in Composites Design and Composites Manufacturing Preparation.

  1. Define the producibility on each of the plies to inspect.
  2. From the Review section of the action bar, click Producibility Inspection .
  3. Select the Plies Group or Complete Stacking to analyze.

gives access to the Stacking Management.

  4. Select the inspection points.
    1. Click Multi-selection at the right of Selected Points.
    2. Select several inspection points on the ply,
    3. Close the Inspection points dialog box.

Note: As a core sample analysis is made for each point, select points inside the ply, otherwise the analysis cannot be performed.

  5. Click Apply to start the analysis.
    • The excel file opens and the parameters are displayed in the Inspection Analysis dialog box.
    • The parameters for each ply are displayed, among those:
      • Delta: Angle of deviation computed by the producibility analysis, that is angle between the transferred theoretical rosette and the actual fiber direction (along the X axis).
      • Actual: difference between the nominal direction of the ply and the delta.
  6. Click ... to define the storage directory and Export Data to generate an excel file containing the inspection parameters.
    1. Select Open file after creation to verify the inspection parameters.
