Creating a Mirror Representation

At the end of your design, you can create a mirrored stacking from an existing manufacturing or engineering stacking. This is done by selecting a mirror plane, and an existing representation where you create the mirrored stacking. This representation becomes the Mirror Representation. A link is kept between the Mirror Representation and the original one, enabling you to synchronize the Mirror Representation with the original one, when it has been modified.

Notes:
  • This task is available in Composites Design and Composites Manufacturing Preparation.
  • The representation you are going to turn into the Mirror Representation must already exist.
  • Saving the original representation after creating the Mirror Representation is compulsory to enable further synchronizations.
  • Read About the Mirror Representation for more information on the creation and synchronization of the mirrored stacking.

  1. Open the representation containing the engineering or manufacturing stacking.
  2. From the Composites Collaboration section of the action bar, click Mirror Representation .
  3. Select or create (context menu) the plane used to create the mirrored stacking.
  4. Click ... under Destination representation and select the existing representation to create the mirrored stacking.
  5. Click OK.
The mirrored stacking is created in the selected representation.
