Creating a Stack-Up File from Core Samplings

You can create a core sampling file, a stack-up file and core samplings in one shot from the stacking.

Note: This task is available in Composites Design.

  1. From the Zones Design section of the action bar, click Stack Up File From Core Samples .

    By default:

  2. Select the stacking for which you want to create the files.
  3. For each file to create:
    1. Select a default location for the file to export Filed-based system or Database .
    2. Enter a file name.

    • A name and a storage path are proposed for each file to create (Core samples reference and Stack up reference).
    • The storage path is that of the directory containing the part you are working on.
    • The names are based on the name of the part you are working on, completed by the suffix _CSExport for the core samples file, and by the suffix _StkUp for the stack-up file.

  4. Optional: Key in a prefix to be used for the core sampling.
  5. Optional: Select the Open generated data reference for StackUp and/or CoreSamples to open the file automatically once it is generated.

  • The core sampling file is generated from the points created at the zones level. The stack-up file is then generated from the core sampling information.
  • The core samples are created in the work area and found under the Core samples node.
  • The xls or xlsx files NameOfRepresentation_CSExportData and NameOfRepresentation_StkUpData are created in their directory.
  • They look like this:
    • Core samples file: NameOfRepresentation_CSExportData.xls:
      Core Sample X Y Z
      CS_Z20 429.4 mm 15.3815 mm 358.108 mm
      CS_Z4 -186.298 mm 43.0578 mm 235.514 mm
    • Stack-up file: NameOfRepresentation_StkUpData.xls :
      Sequence Ply Geo-Lvl Material CS_Z20 CS_Z4
      Seq.1 Ply.1 0 Carbon 0.4 0 0
