Creating a Stack-up File From Zones

You can create a stack-up file before creating the plies. It contains the stacking order of the Composites part and enables you to analyze the stack-up for possible problems. Exporting the stack-up file allows you to modify the default stack-up. This step is not mandatory. If you are satisfied with the proposed stack-up, you can directly create the plies.

Note: This task is available in Composites Design.

  1. From the Zones Design section of the action bar, click Stack-Up File From Zones .
  2. Select the group of zones to export.

    You can select several groups of zones to export simultaneously.

  3. Select a default location for the file to import Filed-based system or Database .
  4. Enter the name of the file to export.
  5. Optional: Select the Zone Connections check box to take them into account.
  6. Select the Open stack-up file after creation check box to display the file.

Here is an example of stack-up file. The stack-up file contains the following information:

  • Ply
  • Geometric level
  • Material
  • Orientation
  • Set of zones.

  • Zone Connections and Create ETBS are not selected:
