Changing the Phase of Part with Template

You can change the phase of parts from the present phase to any other phase in the sequence. You can change the following phases such as Hypothetical-Private, Hypothetical-Public, Experimental, and Pilot stages when they are in the Complete or Release state.

Before you begin: App-Specific: Product Data Originator, Restricted Product Data Originator
Note: Part must be in the Complete or Release state.
  1. Open a part that you want to move to the next phase.
  2. From the page toolbar of Properties or Spec View page, click Go To Phase .
    The Go To Phase dialog box appears.
  3. Change the fields as required:
    Field Description
    Type Part type, read-only.
    Current Phase Current stage of the part, read-only.
    Go To Phase

    In the Go To Phase list, click one of the available phases.

    The Release Phase list changes according to the type of part with template that you select. Product data types can have the following release phase:

    Consumer Kit Part Pilot, Production

    Transport Unit Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Handling Unit Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Assembled Product Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Appliance Product Development, Pilot, Production
    Semi-Finished Product Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Promotional Item Pilot, Production
    Display Unit Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Closure Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Packaging Component Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Label Part Development, Pilot, Production
    Formulation Part Hypothetical-Private, Hypothetical-Public, Experimental, Pilot, Production

    Choose Policy In the Choose Policy list, click one of the policies. The policies that apply to the selected Release Phase appear.
    Revision The next revision of the object for the next Release Phase appears. The revision number depends on the policy that you select.
    Template

    The templates that appear depend on the Type and Policy that you selected.

    In the Template list, click one of the templates.

    Change Template Click to find and select one of the options.

    The option is mandatory if you select the Pilot or Production Release Phase.
    CO Click to find and select one of the options. By default Create New is selected.
  4. Click Done.
    A new revision of the part is created. The policy that you select appears in the Go To Phase dialog box.
