Duplicating a Part

You can create copies of a part that have the same value as that of the parent part. This helps to maintain the same Bill of Material and other specification details in the new part.

Before you begin: Required access roles:
  • Baseline: Author, Leader
  • App-Specific: Product Data Originator, Restricted Product Data Originator
  1. From the page toolbar of properties page, click Duplicating Part.
    The Duplicate Part page appears. For more information, see Duplicating a Part.

    If template is applied on the previous copy, the copied part contains the template information, render language, and status details. If status is temporary the expiration date is reset to 180 days from the current date.

  2. Click Done.
