Editing a Section

You can edit the details of a template section to modify the attributes of the template. To edit a template, it must be in Preliminary state.


Before you begin: Required access roles:
  • Baseline: Owner
  • App-Specific: Template Administrator
  1. From Templates page, click Name to open a template.
  2. Select Sections tab.
  3. Under Sequence Order, select the check box of the section, and click Edit Section .
  4. From the Edit Template Section page edit the following information:

    TypeThis field is read-only.
    TableIf Table is selected in the Type field, the Table list appears. From the list, select one of the tables.
    TitleThe title for the template section.
    DescriptionThe description of the template section.
    Modify AccessClick to display a role or person.
    Section InformationIf the section type is Table, then the Table Layout header appears instead of the Section Information header.

    If the section type is Classification, then the Section Information header does not appear and the classification header appears.

    From Information

    If the section Type is Value Only, Horizontal List, Horizontal List with 2 Columns, or Vertical List, then in the From Information area, select one of the following:

    • Base

      Under Available Attributes, click to add an attribute to the section.

    • Dynamic Attribute Group
      1. In the Select Interface list, select one of the available interfaces.
      2. Under Available Attributes, click to add an attribute to the section.
    • Related
      1. In the Select Relationship list, select any of the available relationships.

        In a relationship such as EBOM (to), for example, the "from side" is connected to the template. In a relationship such as EBOM (from), the "to side" is connected to the template object.

      2. Click and click Select to select a subtype.
      3. Under Available Attributes, click to add an attribute to the section.
    Section Attributes

    Do any of the following:

    • Select an attribute, and under Re-Order Attributes, click or to reorder an attribute in the section.
    • Click to delete an attribute in the section.
    • Under the M, C, or O columns, select either Mandatory, Claimed, or Optional.
      • Mandatory – Information is mandatory when the object is promoted.
      • Claimed – The attributes appear on the template properties page.
        Note: The administrator must update this information in the properties page before the user can promote the template from the Preliminary state. The user cannot select any related information as claimed.
      • Optional – The default for an attribute.
    Note: This section does not appear if the section type is Table or Classification.

  5. Click Done.

You can preview your changes in the Preview tab of the same page.
