Copying a Template

You can copy the information of a template to create a new template.


Before you begin: Required access roles:
  • Baseline: Owner
  • App-Specific: Template Administrator
  1. Open a template, and click the Properties tab.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Copy .
  3. Enter the following information in the Copy page:

    FieldDescription
    NameThe name of a template.
    Type This is read-only.
    TitleThe title of template.
    DescriptionThe description of a template. You can include the purpose of the template or other information to help the user determine its function.
    Template Created For
    Type The type for which the template is applicable. This is read-only.
    Policies

    Do one of the following steps to change this field:

    • Select the check box in the top row of the table of policies to associate all policies with the template.
    • Select the check box next to a policy in the table to select one or several policies to associate with the template.

    Related Information
    Change Template

    The current change template.

    Note: This field only appears if Change Management is installed.

    To change this field, do one of the following steps:

    • Click Clear to delete the change template and enter another change template.
    • Click , to select a different change template.
    • Type the first couple of letters of the name of the change template, then select from the available choices.
    Change Order

    The current change order.

    Note: This field only appears if Change Management is installed. You can also select Create New.

    Do one of the following steps:

    • Click Clear to delete the change order and to type in another change order.
    • Click , to select a different change order.

    Available change orders are the ones that are attached to the change list. Create New appears for a completely new change order and attaches the change order to the change template.

  4. Click OK.

A copy of template is created.
