Revising a Template

You can revise a template to change the fields of a template that is in the Released state.


Before you begin: Required access roles:
  • Baseline: Owner
  • App-Specific: Template Administrator
  1. Open a template, and click the Properties tab.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Revise .
  3. You can modify the fields that are not read-only:
    FieldDescription
    Type The type for the template. This field is read-only.
    NameThe name of the template. This field is read-only.
    RevisionThe next version number of the template. This field is ready-only.
    TitleThe title of the template.
    Description

    The description of the previous version of the template. You can change the description.

    Optionally enter a detailed description of the template. You can include the purpose of the template or other information to help the user determine its function.

    Template Created For
    Type The type for which the template is applicable. This field is read-only.
    PoliciesThe policies of the template. This field is read-only.
    Related Information
    Change Template

    Displays the change template used in the previous version. You can change this field.

    Note: This field only appears if Change Management is installed.

    To change this field, do one of the following:

    • Click Clear to delete the change template and type in another change template.
    • Click , to select a different change template.
    • Type the first couple of letters of the name of the change template, then select from the available choices.
    Change Order

    Displays the previous change order. You can change this field.

    Note: This field only appears if Change Management is installed. You can also select Create New to create a new change order.

    To change this field, do one of the following:

    • Click Clear to delete the change order and enter another change order.
    • Click , to select a different change order.
  4. Click OK.

A revision of template is created.
