Mapping Elements

You can use elements from a sketch to create a geometrical object in both folded and unfolded views.


Before you begin: Create a panel and a panel from an edge with a sketch.

  1. From the Model section of the action bar, click Element Mapping .
  2. Select the sketch.

    You can select several sketches, curves, or points.

    It is added to the list of selected objects for the mapping.
  3. In the Type list, select the mapping type.
    OptionDescription
    Construction element Creates elements (curves or points) in an intermediary construction. The elements do not appear in the unfolded view of the drawing.
    Characteristic element Creates elements required in the drawing for measures but not required in the laser process.
    User Defined Performs the mapping manually.
    The curve mapping is previewed as if the supporting panel was unfolded.

  4. Optional: Select the element on which the curve must be generated in the Support box.

    The default support is the current feature in the tree.

Important:
  • Mapped curves can be created across several panels.
  • Elements resulting from mapped curves always appear as nonrelimited in the drawing view.
