Creating Folds from a Line

You can generate folds based on a line. This is useful for gussets and lockers.


Before you begin: Create a panel and a panel on edge, and then draw two lines on the panel on edge.

  1. From the Model section of the action bar, click Fold .
  2. Select a profile containing one or more lines in the Axis elements box.

    The Preparation check box is selected by default to create the folds by twisting the shape.

  3. Optional: Clear the Preparation check box and then select the standard area element.
  4. Optional: In the Angle list, select one of the following options:
    OptionDescription
    User defined The angle is manually defined.
    Large angle The angle corresponds to a positive angle.
    Small angle The angle corresponds to a negative angle.
    Auto The angle is automatically computed.
  5. Define the left and right limits.
  6. In Folds, click Edit fold parameters and then select one of the following options:
    OptionDescription
    Use default parameter The fold parameter is linked to the default type defined in the carton parameters.
    Select from standard parameters The fold parameter is linked to a standard type defined in the carton parameters.
    Define local parameter The fold parameter is locally defined by selecting a vertex belonging to the profile.
