Dates and Time Format Summary

This topic summarizes the date and time formats in 3DSpace.

All dates in 3DSpace:

  • Are stored in the database in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT);
  • Are displayed with the tokens specified in the MX_NORMAL date variables for Studio Modeling Platform. Display of dates in apps are determined by the browser language setting and by properties in emxSystem.properties. The NORMAL and TERSE formats must still be defined when running apps, but they are specified in the MatrixIniDefaults program instead of the ini file.
  • May be entered in the format specified in either the TERSE or the NORMAL format variables.
  • If range values for date attributes are used, all users must use the same settings for MX_NORMAL_DATETIME_FORMAT and the attribute range values must adhere to this specification.
  • Web apps display dates in the time zone that is known to the 3DSpace Service, not necessarily the time zone of the Web client.
