About Improving Memory Usage While Checking In Large Catalogs

The Integration Administrator can setup the GCO and some options in CATIA to improve memory usage while checking in large CATIA catalogs.

Usually checking in CATIA catalogs is not always possible as large number of CATParts associated with the catalog cannot be simultaneously loaded in memory. Loading all CATParts related to CATIA catalogs in an active session consumes considerable amount of time and memory. It degrades the performance and CATParts remain loaded in the active session. This may lead to the CATIA processes running out of memory.

Optimizing the memory usage and setting the CatPreventCheckinForUnloadedModels GCO attribute, loads the CATPart in CATIA only when required and unloads it as soon as the processing is finished. Thus the documents which are unloaded before Checkin, remain unloaded after the completion of Checkin.

Functionality such as derived outputs, attribute synchronization etc, are provided for the unloaded documents. Memory improvement during the checkin of large catalog files is independent of the Work with the cache system option.
