Configuring Thumbnails

You can set preferences for the background color of a thumbnail, and also define the height and width parameters. This helps in viewing the object geometry.

Before you begin: Create a CATProduct, and insert a CATPart under it. Save this structure in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  1. Launch CATIA, and connect to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  2. Go to <CATIAV5InstallationFolder>\win_b64\resources\msgcatalog\ENODC5.CATRsc where <CATIAV5InstallationFolder> is the folder where the CATIA V5 version being used is installed
    All the keys are located at this location.
  3. Enter the value Clear in the Thumbnail.Background.Color key.
    The background color of the thumbnail is transparent/white.
  4. Enter the value CATIABackground in the Thumbnail.Background.Color key.
    The preview background is the same as the CATIA background.
  5. Enter the value False in the Thumbnail.CATPart.ShowWireFrame key.
    The preview is focused around the CATPart geometry.
  6. Enter any valid positive integer (in pixel) in the Thumbnail.Size.Width key.
    The preview is generated with the specified value.
  7. Enter any valid positive integer (in pixel) in the Thumbnail.Size.Height key.
    The preview is generated with the specified value.

You can see the thumbnail view in the Save, and Open dialog boxes.
