About Quick Save

You can perform Quick Sve on an active document (the document that is selected in the tree). By default, if the active document is NEW or MODIFIED, the embedded integration will save the document to ENOVIA V6 without any UI. If the active document EXISTS, you will be informed that this document does not need to be saved. You can select the document for save if needed.

The quick save operation will create a version, as set by the user in the ENOVIA V6 preferences. This cannot be changed while the quick save is running. Revising objects is not possible through quick save. You cannot select the Workspace folder during quick save. If the object being quick saved is already present in the workspace folder, it will get updated in the associated folder.

Type selection is not possible when you use quick save. The default ENOVIA type associated with the CATIA V5 type of the active document is retained. All the derived outputs selected by the user in the ENOVIA V6 preferences will be generated and saved along with the active document. You cannot change the derived output selection during the quick save operation.

If the current user has already locked the objects being quick saved, those locks will be retained. All other objects being quick saved, that did not have locks earlier will also be locked.

Note: While using quick save,
  • The special retention of locks is only available through Quick Save (and not the Save dialog) because the objective of Quick Save is intermediately save the work progress to ENOVIA V6and let user continue with the design.
  • If the active document is OBSOLETE “UUID Conflict”, then quick save cannot be performed.
  • If the active document is locked by another user, quick save cannot be performed.
