Updating Documents

You can update your design assembly in a CATIA V5 session, with any revision of the design that is available in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You can check for the updates of documents that are open in CATIA, and refresh your active session to synchronize those updates.

  1. Open the Global Refresh dialog box.
  2. Select one of the following options from the Global Refresh Scope list:
    • Active Document: By default, this option is selected. The current active design is displayed in blue in the CATIA tree, and the documents to which the open document points are selected for save.
    • Session: Lists all the documents that are currently open in the active session, and the documents they point to.
    • Current Editor: Lists the documents in the active document window.
  3. The Global Refresh dialog box is initialized with the latest revision. By default, if you want to get all the latest revisions, click OK.
Note: The documents with the status in CATIA have a later iteration in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and require an update. If an open document is obsolete, a warning message appears in CATIA.
  4. Click to filter all the new root objects, and the up-to-date documents, for which no action can be performed.
  5. In the Global Refresh dialog box, click on a cell under the Selected Rev column.
A list of all the revisions appears.
  6. Choose a revision from the list and click OK.

The selected documents are updated. If the modification date of the selected document in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is more recent than the iteration of the document open in CATIA, a tool tip appears indicating that the document saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is more recent.
