Refreshing the Document Status

You can refresh the status of all documents open in the active session according to the status of documents saved in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Updated status appears in the specification tree. You can review the status of documents in an active session and compare the revision in the active session with the latest available revision (major revision & minor iteration) in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

  1. Review the status of documents that are open in the current session of CATIA.
  2. In the CATIA toolbar, select 3DEXPERIENCE Platform > Refresh Document Status > All.

    OR

In the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform toolbar, select > .

Warning: 3DEXPERIENCE Platform toolbar displays the last option selected to refresh documents. For example, if you refresh status of selected documents, the icon to refresh document status to is displayed in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform toolbar.

Tip: To refresh the status of selected documents, you can:
    • In the CATIA toolbar, select 3DEXPERIENCE Platform > Refresh Document Status > Selected.
    • In the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform toolbar, select > .
    • Right-click the selected documents and select Refresh Document Status.

A success or failure message appears in the tool tip. All documents that are open in the active session of CATIA are refreshed, and their status icons are updated.

Note: While refreshing the document status,
  • If later iterations of open documents are available in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, a warning message appears.
  • If documents open in the active session are obsolete in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, a warning message appears in CATIA. The warning message appears only once for a particular document in an active session. In addition, appears for obsolete documents in the specifications tree, in CATIA. You can update obsolete documents using Global Refresh.
  • All the metadata information that is displayed on the specification tree tooltip is updated only once for the Connector for CATIA V5 session. After our update, if any information changes on the server side (such as the Lifecycle state), it is not automatically updated in the tooltip. You must execute the Refresh Document status command to refresh the cache.
  • The cache is updated after every save operation. For Open, the cache is updated only when the document entry is not found. It is possible that after open, some information is not up to date (as some documents may have been used in the session, and will already have an entry in cache). To get the latest information, you must manually refresh the document status.
