In the CATIA toolbar,
- Select
3DEXPERIENCE Platform > Advanced Save.
- In the 3DEXPERIENCE platform toolbar, click
.
The Save dialog box appears.
It lists the documents that are new, modified, directly or indirectly pointed by documents in the active session, missing, and non-file documents (VPMV5, VPMV4, or SmarTeam). Note:
While saving documents,- The updated designs are not listed.
- You cannot use any special
characters in the file name. The list of prohibited characters may vary depending on the GCO setting done by
the administrator.
- If the filename contains unsupported characters like @, $, % , [ ], { }, #, & then the Advanced Save dialog box shows a non-entry mark. If you continue saving, these CATIA files are automatically excluded, and an incomplete structure will be created. ,(comma) is also the unsupported character for this case. If the part number contains the unsupported characters like <, >, *, ", ?, | and the file itself is not yet saved locally (only in memory), the file will be automatically renamed to default name like Part1.CATPart, Part2.CATPart, Product1.CATProduct etc. The Advanced Save dialog box shows them with a new mark.
If the part number contains unsupported characters like /, \ and the file itself is not yet saved locally (only in memory), the character will be replaced by an underscore as its filename, and the Advanced Save dialog box shows them with a new mark. The character : cannot be used as its part number. The documents having unsupported characters will be excluded from the save scope, and will not be saved in ENOVIA. Rest of the documents will be saved.
- You can create a CATAnalysis file for individual designs; and then integrate it in an assembly called the Assembly of Analysis. You can then save the Assembly of Analysis in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Select one or more documents from the list.
The preview window shows the selected design. A summary of the documents to be saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is displayed in the window along with the following details: - Number of new and modified objects.
- Number of objects excluded, although
they are not up-to-date.
- Number of objects included, although
they are up-to-date.
- Customize the following options, as required:
Option | Description |
---|
Session list | Session: Lists all the documents that are currently open in the active session, and the documents they point to. Current Editor: Lists the documents in the active document window and the documents they point to. Active Document: By default, this option is selected. The current active design is displayed in blue in the CATIA tree. The current active document and the documents they point to. Depending upon scope, document and it’s all pointed documents are considered for save scope. On scope change, latest information is fetched from server, thus manual interactions are overwritten with latest information. It is recommended to first decide the save scope, and then perform the manual operation on Save dialog box.
| | Click to toggle iteration creation. You can use this option to overwrite the current iterations of the selected documents instead of creating new iterations. When activated, a new iteration is created. When deactivated, the current iterations are overwritten. By default, this option is activated. | Retain Lock | Select this option to retain the lock status on the documents. | Save to | Click to open the Folder selection dialog box. Select the required workspace or project folder to save the selected documents, and click OK. Note:
The documents that are already saved in other folders can be saved to the selected folder. You cannot save documents to the mxclipboard collection.
| | Click to toggle the updated documents filter. By default, this filter is activated, so that only the new and modified documents are listed. Note:
When you deactivate the filter, you can select an updated (unmodified) document to save. If you activate the filter after selecting an updated document, the selected document is listed with the modified documents.
| View | Select a table to modify the list of the displayed columns, and their
order in the Save dialog box. Note: You can select View, if the value for the Save table is enforced by the
administrator. |
Note:
You can also save documents using the predefined check-in options.
- In the Comment box, type a comment for the documents that are selected.
If you modify and save an existing document, the comment in the Comment box overwrites the comment saved for the document. -
Click OK.
A tooltip in the product tree helps you to identify the data that is auto-recognized. This happens when the GCO attribute IEF-CheckUUIDConflict” is set to FALSE. The auto-recognized designs are listed in the Save dialog box with a warning yellow icon. If you save the design, the existing design is overwritten (if versioning is off). If versioning is activated, the next version is created. The auto-recognized nodes are selected by default; when the environment
variable 'CT5_AUTORECOGNITION_SUPPORT' is not defined.
You can save CAD data created using tools other than CATIA V5 such as Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, and STEP to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. V5 files opened from the CATIA V5 installation folder cannot be saved. To save these files, you must copy the files in the ENOVIA local workspace folder, and then open them in a CATIA V5 session. You can use advanced save options to save these files. If you duplicate a CATPart, the CATPart will have a Modified status in the Advanced Save dialog box.
The selected documents are saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. A message displays the number of documents that are saved. The object names are now different from the file names. This allows you to save multiple files with the same name.
