Changing Maturity

You can change the maturity of a catalog or chapter. Change Maturity enables you to define the maturity status of an object as it evolves throughout its life cycle. Multiple selection is also available for the change maturity operations.

Important: You must have People and Organization rights on the objects for which you intend to change the maturity.

Before you begin:
  • Open a search results .
  • Open a catalog or a chapter in a Collaborative Lifecycle apps.
  1. Select a catalog or a chapter of your choice.
  2. To change the selected catalog's or the chapter's maturity status, select Change Maturity from the Lifecycle section of the action bar.
    The Change Maturity dialog box appears.
  3. In the Choose Transition list, select the transition of your choice.

    The transition options available are Isolate, ToFreeze and ToRelease.For each object, an icon represents if the transition can be applied to the object:

    IconsTransition
    The chosen transition can be applied to the object. Double-click this icon to toggle between the Applicable and the Not Applied state.
    The chosen transition cannot be applied to the object.
    you have chosen not to apply the transition to the object. Double-click this icon to revert it back to Applicable Transition.
    The object is locked by you (the current user).
    The object is locked by a different user.

  4. Click OK, to apply the transition.

    A successful message appears. The Current Status of the selected catalog or chapter is changed (promoted/demoted) to the next state.

    Note: Depending on the state and the transition defined, the selected catalog or chapter can be reverted back to the previous state or not. A warning message appears, if the promotion is unsuccessful indicating that maturity transition failed. For multi-selected objects, if the transition request for one object fails, no transitions are processed.
